Backyard Beadz started with a box of old beads in my parents’ basement and a newfound hobby of making jewelry for my friends in my backyard (AKA, my apartment patio). I’d pick out colors, charms, and beads that reminded me of each person and make something that I felt embodied them.

It started with a simple idea: jewelry should feel a little more personal. The kind of piece you reach for because it makes you smile, reminds you of someone, or just makes an ordinary day feel a little more fun.

That idea is still at the heart of Backyard Beadz. I make colorful, playful pieces designed to be worn, layered, gifted, collected, and, most importantly, felt. Each piece is a little reminder to carry something good with you—whether that’s confidence, comfort, nostalgia, or just a bit of joy.

My inspiration often comes from the little things: friendship bracelets, summer afternoons by the pool, nostalgic trinkets, found treasures in nature, and the weirdly specific things that make us feel like ourselves.
